If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know that I’m focusing on healthy living and training for a Marathon. Run Emily Run! Tracking your daily steps, activity, and calories can be cumbersome if you’re without the best cell phone for healthy living. I was thrilled to see that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport arrives pre-loaded with the new Sprint Fit Live package.
The Sprint Fit Live package delivers instant access to favorite health and activity apps from the active wallpaper or the full screen experience to tailor workouts, music and healthy living content to fitness interests and routine. It’s fully integrated with Map My Fitness and uses GPS to track your activity. You can see how far you’re running, walking, or biking. Through the interactive map, you can see where you’ve been, how many calories you’ve burned (is it okay to have that peanut butter S’mores brownie?), and monitor your heart rate by touching the back of the device.
You also have the ability to track other types of fitness activities, like yoga. Remember this DVD?
Poor Bob Harper was lost for a long time, and just before hitting the “place your order” button on Amazon for a replacement, I found my copy. One reason I love this yoga DVD is because it is a total body work out. It’s great for “rest days” and every day. Tracking yoga – and any activity – is easy with the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport.
The handset itself is just a bit larger than my hand; the textured body makes the smartphone easier to hold and preventing it from slipping from my hand. It’s lightweight, 5.6 ounces, so I don’t feel bogged down.
Because of schedule constraints, I choose to run alone; to go when it’s convenient and easy for me. {I run during the day, on a well-travelled road. My route passes a fire station and I turn around at a police station.} The Galaxy S5 Sport features three hard keys so the smartphone is easier to operate when active. It’s also IP67 water and dust resistant; no need to worry about sweat or running on sandy trails.
The smartphone also allows for easy tracking of your daily calories. Once you tell it your height and weight, it tells you how much you should consume. By logging what you’re taking in, it’s easy to see how much you need to exert to maintain (or lose!) your weight.
How are you incorporating healthy living choices into your daily routine?
How cool is that?! And I think I’d prefer to run alone! I’d feel weird trying to run with someone else.
Love all of those features! Like you, I usually run alone too. It’s just easier to get it done when I don’t have anyone to worry about other than myself.
That phone looks awesome! I want to try out the heart rate monitor on the case.
I regret my decision to switch to an iPhone EVERY day, I miss Samsung!
