How to Make a Beverage Koozie:
The first step in making a beverage koozie, is cutting all of your fabric pieces and gathering your supplies. I was so thrilled to find these fun Halloween prints in my fabric stash.
Now, we are going to assemble the beverage koozie. Place the outside piece of fabric right side up, place the inside piece of fabric right side down, and then place the Insulbright on top. Make sure the edges are aligned and pin. Then pin some more.
Use a standard 1/4″ seam allowance to stitch around the edge of the stacked pieces, leaving an opening at one of the short ends. Clip the corners very carefully, and trim the seam to 1/8″.
Turn the piece right-side out through the opening. To make the corners crisp, use a corner turning tool or a chopstick! Iron the rectangle well and pin the opening shut. Stitch round the entire rectangle, making sure to close the opening.
To attach the Velcro piece, remove the protective backing from the hook portion of the Velcro and attach it to the front side of the piece. Repeat this process to attach the Velcro piece to the back side of the beverage koozie. For extra reinforcement, you may stitch the Velcro to the beverage koozie.
Slip the beverage koozie around your #MiniMonsters can and you’re ready to scare up some fun this Halloween!
I always have a beverage koozie in my purse and one in my car. There is nothing worse than chilly hands! Once your friends see how cute these beverage koozies are, they’ll be asking you to make one for them. And, you won’t mind because they’re so easy and fun to make.
Beverage koozies can be made in a variety of fabrics and color combinations, making them perfect for handing out to trick-or-treaters, giving to the hostess at a Halloween party, or putting in a gift basket for a Fall Harvest giveaway.
