This week’s featured guest contributor is Foster of Foster and Boo. She’s a working mom and wife with a precocious (or rather precious) little girl, Ashley. Foster has been blogging about her life with literature, sippy cups, and avoiding mothers who smother since June 2010. Today she’s here to share an idea for a fun date night.
Thanks, Emily, for having me this week! As you can see above, I’m a mother to a toddler. And while Husband and I do have an occasional sitter or parent come over and watch Ashley so we can go out on a date, most of our date nights these days are spent at home.
Even though we love these hot summer days:
we’re actually much bigger fans of winter:
And isn’t one of the most magical times in winter Christmas?
It shouldn’t come as too great a surprise, then, to learn that one of our favorite Summer date nights is Christmas in July.
Even though we don’t put up a tree:
(mostly because Maine Coon thinks it is a gift for her),
we turn up the air conditioning:
and light some candles:
We make hot chocolate and pop in a favorite holiday movie or two:
The only other things you need are a warm blanket and a warmer person to snuggle up with!
Thanks again, Emily, for having me! I hope you enjoyed my idea of a perfect date night in July!
