I don’t know about where you live, but summer couldn’t come fast enough here on Cape Cod. We had a long, cold winter and now we’re enjoying a long, hot summer. That means, The Boy continues to spend some time indoors each day and we’ve been watching our flat screen TV more than I’d care to admit. Although our flat screen TV is secured to the wall in our den, the flat screen TV in our bedroom is not. {Yes! We have a TV in our bedroom. Hush.}
Did you know that flat screen TVs are dangerous around children? As technology improves, flat screen TVs are becoming smaller, lighter, and easier for a child to knock off a shelf or TV stand. That’s why it is so important to secure your flat screen TV to the wall using a flat screen TV wall mount.
SANUS, the leading designer and manufacturer of wall mounts, has partnered with Safe Kids Worldwide. By educating consumers on the risk of unsecured flat panel TV’s, SANUS and Safe Kids Worldwide offer safe solutions for families across the nation by reducing TV tip-over related injuries and fatalities.
A 2011 US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report on flat panel TV safety revealed the following
· A child is killed every three weeks from an unsecured TV
· Every 45 minutes a child visits an emergency room due to a TV tip-over related injury
· Between 2000 and 2011, 215 fatalities have resulted from TV tip-over
· An estimated 17,000 people each year, the majority of which are children, are treated for injuries from TV tip-overs
· Reported cases have increased almost 25% from 2006 to 2010, and over the last 10 years, injuries have increased by 31%
SANUS has made it easy to mount your flat screen TV to the wall. There is an online video, a wall template, and all installation hardware is included in the packaging. If you have questions, live customer support is available 6 days a week! {That is awesome!}

My flat screen TVs are mounted to the wall and I love it!

I’m a Sanus FB fan!
My TV is not currently mounted to the wall. Pretty obvious it should be now though. Not only would mounting prevent it falling & breaking it on a small person it also wouldn’t allow tiny fingers to beat up my flat screen with finger smudges…
I was pretty shocked to hear those statistics of kids getting hurt, I never would have thought. We actually don’t have a TV in our house, but would love to get one for when we watch movies, and having it mounted just always looks so nice and clean!

Yes, my flat screen TV is wall mounted. It wasn’t about a year ago, but we finally decided that wall mounting was safer then keeping the TV in an area that could lead to one of my kids pulling it down on top of themselves.
We have a flat screen and it’s not secured to the wall. I’ve been thinking about getting it secured for weeks.
