After checking out that great board, I knew that The Texan MUST HAVE one of the new Gillette Flexball razors. Sometimes, you just do something nice for your man because.
During a quick trip to my neighborhood Walmart, I noticed a small group of teenage boys gathered around an end cap saying things like “that’s awesome!” and “look how smooth it is”. I made my way over and noticed they were watching a moving display of the Gillette Flexball razor. If I wasn’t already planing to buy one, these teens would have totally sold me! I wanted to take a picture – to show The Texan that “the cool kids” were using this awesome new razor, but thought better about it. I didn’t want them to think I was some creepy cougar. {Am I even old enough for that title?}
I was so excited to give this razor to him. You would have thought it was a new car or the winning lottery ticket! He started to growing a beard in July; and I knew this razor could help him achieve a #SmoothSummer look in minutes.
It was a bit awkward photographing him in the bathroom. You know, that’s supposed to be a private space. Not to mention that our sink area is recessed and the lighting makes it hard to snap an awesome photo. he was a trooper though.
The Texan has sensitive skin. We have to use unscented laundry detergents and unscented body wash. Boring! But, too many chemicals really aggravate his skin. The same holds true with razors. He’s been a fan of the Gillette brand for as long as I can remember. Did you know that you can order replacement blades via subscription from Gillette? Anyhow, I crossed my fingers that he would love their newest model, too.
He was impressed that the razor was able to easily glide across his face with minimal effort. There were no cuts or nicks. He didn’t leave the bathroom with a bloodied face; though the rugby player in him doesn’t mind a little blood on game days. He says it gives you character, but not when you’re shaving.
With his new #SmoothSummer look, we headed out to celebrate. {And let a little sunshine hit his face!} The outdoor dining season is going to be over before we know it. So we headed to a quaint spot that we only discovered a few months ago.
It’s great seeing his smooth shave everyday. Knowing that the shaving process is so easy, I’m sure he won’t mind if I ask him to shave the goatee off!
