In our family, we try to make healthy choices when it comes to snacks and side items. That typically means by-passing the chip aisle. When I heard that the Green Giant veggie snacks were available, I couldn’t wait to try them. I mean, who doesn’t like a chip with giant flavor?!
We spent the day yesterday working on a fun pallet project, and I decided to bring the chips outside to snack on. While The Texan was sanding the boards, I quickly headed back inside to finish painting the risers on our stairs. Yes, we have far too many DIY projects going on in our home. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Silly me for going back inside. By the time I headed back outside to check The Texan’s progress on our project, it was clear that I took too long.
According to The Texan, the ranch flavored Roasted Veggie Tortilla chips were very tangy. He really liked them…did not save me one. Not one single chip. Not even a crumb. How can you blame a hard working guy doing the bulk of the DIY work for eating the chips? You can’t. That wouldn’t really be fair. But…the fair is where you get cotton candy, right?
Lucky for my belly, the bag of barbecue flavored Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips sat untouched. The barbecue flavor was pleasing. I typically don’t eat barbecue flavored chips as the taste is usually too artificial and forced. Green Giant did a wonderful job bringing the true flavor of barbecue out in these tortilla chips. They used brown sugar, tomato and onion powders, and a natural mesquite smoke flavor to create a winning flavor!
These veggie chips are a healthier choice to many of the chips you’ll find in your market’s snack aisle. I plan to purchase these again, and maybe next time I’ll get to taste the ranch flavored Roasted Veggie Tortilla chips myself! I think they’d be wonderful as a base for a hearty plate of nachos.
Has your family ever polished off a snack before you could try it?!
