Hello Friends,
Typically the content you find on my blog is lighthearted and fun. I offer you recipes, crafts, parenting tips and fun giveaways, too. I appreciate that you’ve been loyal followers for so long.
Today, I am asking for your help. Not for me. But for 5 year old Noah Keene.
On June 26, Noah’s left hand was severed from his body in a freak accident. While riding in the backseat of his grandmother’s truck, he was playing with a jump rope. One end of the jump rope was dangling out the window while the other end was wrapped around his left wrist. The jump rope caught in a tire and the force amputated his hand. A stranger helped to stem the bleeding while waiting for the ambulance, and a friend retrieved his little hand from the road. Noah’s hand was reattached by a wonderful team of doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital. The recovery will be long, and it will be months before it is known if the surgery was a success.
In the wake of this tragic accident, I would like to remind you to ALWAYS lock the windows of your vehicle when children are riding in the backseat.
I hope that you will donate what you can to help offset the financial burden the family will face and ensure they will be able to focus on Noah’s recover.
Please share this with your family and friends.
That’s so scary. Good reminder- there are so many things that you would think could never ever happen to you. We have to be so careful, but sometimes freak accidents like this happen. The family is in my thoughts and prayers!
Thanks, Kari. It is so tragic.
Tweeted for you. Good reminder and I hope everything turns out okay. I used to work in an ER and especially did not like seeing kids in there. Best to the family.
Thank you! Thank you!
