Summer is {finally} approaching. And that means Iced Coffee season is here! Finally. I love the taste of Iced Coffee. So cool, so refreshing. This summer is my first summer using my fantastic Cuisinart Keurig coffee maker. If you have a Keurig, you can appreciate how fabulous every cup of coffee you brew tastes. Fresh. Piping hot. Seriously, if you don’t have a Keurig, go get yourself one.
Edit May 2012: This deal has ended. But, the recipe is easy. Read on friend!
{Here’s the part about the deal}
I’m sort of cheap frugal when it comes to most purchases, particularly the K-Cups that are needed for the Keurig to work. Our machine did come with the brew basket, but by the time I purchase and grind the beans {and cleaned up the HUGE mess that I’ve made} I don’t enjoy the coffee. And, it’s not really cost effective to grind your own and use the little brew basket daily. Thanks to Bethany at Remodel This House for sharing a fabulous deal on K-Cups – purchase four (4) boxes get one (1) free. Plus free shipping. Oh, and did I mention these are boxes of 24, not 18. Super deal. Use code KCUP4.
{Here’s the recipe…}
My Keurig has a setting for iced coffee. But I don’t use it. You can buy special “iced coffee” K-Cups. But I don’t buy those, use your regular K-Cups.
Fill an insulated cup – specifically designed for iced beverages – to the top with ice. This is the time to add your milk, sweetener, and Kahlua. In my cup is Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, which isn’t really milk at all, but that’s another topic for another post. I don’t use sweetener ever, or Kahlua during the week.
Add your K-Cup. I’m using Nantucket Blend Decaf. I try to limit caffeine as much as possible. Set your Keurig to brew 6 ounces. Press the brew button.
In just a few seconds, you have a fantastic cup of freshly brewed Iced Coffee for a fraction of the cost of your local coffee shop.
Isn’t that pretty? If you’re wondering, my insulated cup came from Old Navy. I purchased it for $2.50. That is less than the cost of a medium Iced Coffee at my local coffee shop.
I do this all the time!
I just got a Keurig and immediately set about looking for an iced coffee recipe. This was great! I followed your instructions and it turned out perfectly. I used vanilla almond milk (my “milk” of choice) and it was the perfect amount of creamy sweetness.
So happy that you enjoyed it!
This is exactly what I was craving on this sunny Portland afternoon, Thank You.
A little note: So far, I’ve discovered that grinding my own beans from Costco once a week [I don’t like the mess either!] to fill my own basket has been *far* less expensive for me.
I don’t always remember to seek out Kcup deals BUT I don’t run out of those beans 🙂
This was the best!!! I’m never going to Starbucks again! (I probably will, but it was that good!)
Thank you!
Coffee ice cubes makes it even better 🙂
