As a mom of a busy toddler, I find our life moves a bit smoother when we’re meal planning. I fell off the meal planning wagon in January, and I’m determined to get back on.
When I was meal planning, we were in a food rut. I can say that we were rotating nearly the same menus every two weeks. While I’m not ready to call it quits on Turkey Taco Tuesdays, I’m excited to have a a wide variety of items to choose from thanks to Relish!.
Relish! offers 15 meals that change every Thursday morning. You select what interests you, print out your custom grocery list and you’re all set. I’ve been skeptical about menu planning sites before, our family is a picky toddler, a part-time vegetarian, and a meat-loving man. With Relish!, you can choose from Kid Friendly, Vegetarian, Simple Gourmet and Super Quick recipes! They do offer something for everyone. A weekly menu – with sides – averages $90 per week.
I enjoyed browsing the weekly meals, and knowing that I wouldn’t be scrambling around the kitchen wondering “what’s for dinner”! I was happy to see that it wasn’t filled with casseroles (ick!) or hard to find ingredients. The meals are easy to prepare – like the White Bean Burritos. Y’all know I have a soft spot for burritos. Relish! is the perfect solution for busy families – all of the recipes take under 30 minutes to prepare!
Let’s talk about the grocery list for a minute, shall we? Each recipe and side is coded A, B, C, D, or E that corresponds to the shopping list. If you’re unable to make a particular dinner, simply cross off everything in the grocery list with that code. There is extra room under each category for you to write in your own ingredients.
If you’re into freezer meals, there is an option for making those as well. I’ve always wanted to try that, but haven’t yet. Wouldn’t it be great to grab something from the freezer, pop it in the oven and sit down to eat an hour later. Maybe one day. When I get a bigger freezer!
