It’s amazing how much having a menu plan helps you to stay focused during the busy week. Last week, The Texan and I did a great job sticking with what we planned; though we switched up the days that we ate certain things. It’s nice to build a delicious menu plan that allows flexibility, too.
This week, my mom is visiting to help us celebrate The Boy’s fifth birthday. The time passes so quickly; he’s going to be an official Big Kid on Wednesday. Sigh. With birthdays, and visits from Glammy, come tasty treats and more lax rules about what we’re eating.
Did you see what she brought him for breakfast today?
But, no worries, he didn’t eat the entire cookie. And she also remembered some delectable treats for the grownups.
I swiped my finger down the side of the eclair. I still don’t like them. I also cut the end off that canoli and savored every bite. Worth the calories, you betcha!
These small bites aren’t going to slow me down or steer me away from my healthy eating plan. This is what we’ll {try} to eat this week:
Monday: Grilled Chicken and vegetables
Tuesday: Grilled Scallops and vegetables
Wednesday: Party time! Grilled Chicken and Wild Rice with Cherries
Thursday: Leftovers or Turkey Burrito Bowls
Friday: Grilled Fish and homemade Tabbouleh
Saturday: Father-daughter date night. We’re going to Jimmy Buffett!
Sunday: Dinner at the beach
