This post is a few days late, sorry! June brought many exciting changes, as it typically does. We’ve enjoyed beautiful beach weather and great times grilling with family and friends. I love June, it kicks off summer and brings families and friends together. It also means s’mores and campfires, and that parades and fireworks are coming soon! What’s not to love about that?
The Featured Guest Blogger series continued with a wonderful organizing post from Tina Gray {dot} me. A beautiful post on encouraging others was written by April of Marine Parents Blog, did you know that I am one of her blog sponsors, too?! Kelly, the Texas Type A Mom, gave us an amazing recipe for Buffalo Chicken Bites. And while we’re on the topic of delicious recipes, did you check out the Smoky Chicken and warm corn and potato salad recipe from Isabelle of Life Through My Eyes? Since we always need fun things to do with our kids, Ana – the Caffeinated Cavegirl – was nice enough to write about Container Gardening with Toddlers.
I am so inspired by June’s featured guest bloggers and look forward to sharing many great bloggers with you in the coming months. If you’re interested in being featured, and can write a post that will help my readers create a better life for themselves and their families please email me!
Wouldn’t you say that life seems to be more hectic these days than just a few years ago? Adding kids and a husband to the mix will do that to you. I shared ten time-saving tips to make your life as a busy mom easier. Did you try any of them? If you’re like me, and find that you’ve acquired tons of material goods, consider having a yard sale this summer! Check out my tips on making your sale successful. I also shared the importance of changing your bedsheets – and how often I change ours…go on, you know you’re curious!
And the big news this month is that I moved to WordPress. If you notice anything quirky, please let me know! As you may recall, I had a HUGE problem with my feed being hacked, and I just couldn’t handle it any more. During the move to WP, I had to create and install a new GFC account – which was so disappointing as I lost over 400 followers. I appreciate those of you who’ve followed me over and look forward to building my readership {again}. Thanks for sticking it out and continuing to read my blog!

Thanks! I’m still playing with the design…and might debut something new soon. While I love the gray & yellow together, I think I want to go with something cleaner. I’m also having issues with the fonts. Learning new things is so much fun! 🙂

I am a new blogger and I’m so freaked out about hackers and spam! It sounds like you might be an expert now at combating it. What can I do as wordpress blogger to protect myself?! Do you use akismet?
Emily says
I would suggest the plug-in Akismet, it works. I still receive a few people leaving random comments that I consider to be spam, but I monitor and approve all comments. I change my passwords frequently, and use combinations of letters & numbers. Aside from that, I don’t really have any additional advice.
Thanks so much for reading my blog and taking the time to comment!
