Spring has been a little slow to make an appearance around here….we have yet to see a single flower shoot or blade of green grass or bud on a tree branch…..and with Easter already behind us, it’s starting to feel way overdue! The good news is that the snow is finally melting, and the bare branches are exposed and ready to be brought indoors…..so, if nothing else, I guess we can start to make our own version of spring!
I have always loved this season. I especially love what it signifies (growth, renewal, a fresh start) and how it makes us feel (alive!). I also love decorating with branches….and since the branches are all still bare, it seems especially appropriate (almost necessary) to create some fresh buds – a reminder of what spring is all about.
The supplies for this project were quite minimal. I started by taking a walk through our backyard and finding some branches….
….and then took a trip to Michael’s for some washi tape. I decided to spray paint the branches white to give them a fresh, clean look….and then made a bunch of washi flag “buds” on them.
I carried the washi design onto the vase….and then tied some eyelet lace fabric onto the branches for additional buds, until it looked something like this:
I love that it’s fresh, bright, and happy…..a lot like spring (or at least my version of it)!
Thanks so much for letting me share with you here today! I hope you enjoy making your own twig tree… and I hope your spring is fresh, bright, and happy….(just like mine)!

Very cute! Great way to get color in the house before the flowers arrive.

Will the flowers ever arrive this year?! I certainly hope so, it’s been too long. I’m tired of the big ol’ cloud and cannot wait for warmer temps!
