If you’ve made it this far without using traditional shampoo or conditioner, congratulations! Doesn’t your hair feel so much softer and more manageable? I’m loving mine. Last week, as it was beginning to be too oily, I really, really wanted to use traditional shampoo and conditioner because it was driving me crazy. Surprisingly, it last for two days. Now I have lovely locks again. Yesterday morning, The Boy, who’s not yet two, told me I had nice hair. And ran his fingers through it. Melted my heart.
I thought I’d take some time this week to answer some popular reader questions about the No Shampoo or Conditioner pledge.
- Can I still join the pledge? Yes! Of course you can. The purpose of the Pledge is to raise awareness and reduce the toxins we’re exposing ourselves to.
- How long will my hair be greasy? My hair didn’t develop the greasiness until I was in my third week and lasted only two days.
- Does the vinegar smell linger? No. And if you’re worried about the scent, consider adding lemon juice or using apple cider vinegar in place of white vinegar.
- My hair is chemically treated, is using vinegar safe? I have no idea. Consult your stylist prior to using vinegar.
