In just a few weeks, it will be that time of year again. The time of year when all of the businesses are open and tourists fill the highways, beaches, and restaurant tables. If you’re in the area this weekend, you’re lucky. There are several fun events taking place – and they shouldn’t be too crowded!
The weather forecast is calling for BEACH WEATHER all weekend! Grab your surf board and head to Coast Guard Beach in Eastham to catch great waves! If playing it low key is more your speed, head to Mayo Beach in Wellfleet or Corporation Beach in Dennis. Not a salt water fan? Cape Cod is full of kettle ponds brimming with fresh water. Try out Cliff Pond in Brewster or Grews Pond in Falmouth. Ponds are great for smaller children as they are generally full of other wee ones and the water is much warmer!
If beaching it isn’t your thing, Cape Cod offers other exciting activities for you to participate in. On Saturday, Truro Vineyards will celebrate the release of their 2007 Sparkling Brut at their “Sparkling Summer Kick Off Party”. The free event runs from 4pm – 9 pm. Can’t make Saturday? The vineyard is open daily, with free tours from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The Rockwell Amusements Carnival is in town through June 17. The carnival set up on the back side of the Cape Cod Mall in the Route 28 parking lot. This event is fun for the whole family! I saw a ferris wheel and a sign for Fried Dough! I’m sold!
Celebrate Father’s Day by visiting the 18th Annual Father’s Day Car Show on Main Street in Hyannis. With over 300 vehicles expected in attendance, the show should have something to please even the most difficult dads! On the town green, you’ll find the East Coast Crafters selling handmade crafts and playing music from 12pm until 3pm.
Whatever your plans are on Cape Cod this weekend, I hope you enjoy your time!
