Now that you have some present ideas (sneaky aren’t I!) lets talk decorations. I love me some Christmas decorations, and each year my collections grows and let me tell you it can really turn into a costly exercise. So what’s the solution? Make your own of course!
Today I am going to share with you a quick and easy craft project, it is so simple and easy to alter that you can use your imagination and take it just about anywhere!
Cute huh? And perfect to hang from a mantle, benchtop, tree or whatever takes your fancy.
Here’s what you need:
some cardboard
some strips of ribbon for the bows
some strips of lace for hanging the decorations
some scraps of fabric
a little glue
and a little paint.
Side note, instead of the paint I was simply going to apply the glue in the shape of the letters and cover with glitter, then I had a glitter explosion and couldn’t get to the store, so I turned to paint! But I really think that glitter would look fab, who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle.
Start by drawing the outline of the shapes you are going with on the card. I chose doves and baubles. And cut them out.
Now comes the glue, I had mod podge on hand so I used that.
Coat the pieces of card and glue onto the scraps of fabric.
Allow the glue to dry and cut the excess fabric from around the shapes. Use a paint brush and free hand the letters onto the little ornaments.
Tie your bows, and using either hot glue, super glue or strong craft glue attach the doves to the lace strips and then the ribbon bows above them. I put my bows about 3 inches about the doves.
Now glue the lace strips to the backs of the baubles.
And your done! So simple and quick, and when you work with what you can already find in your home, its free!
