Being a parent means you get to play a variety of roles, including that of the Easter Bunny. Creating a fun Easter basket is easy, especially when shopping at Target. Be sure to download the Cartwheel app for 25% off Easter DOVE chocolate eggs and save 10% on Starburst jellybeans. While you’re shopping, be sure to look for the Target exclusive flavor M&M’s White Strawberry Shortcake. Target Super Stores will be hosting a sampling event March 20th, this flavor is only available for a limited time – if you see it, grab a bag!
This year, I used a small basket and added traditional Easter favorites. I know he’ll love the M&M’s White Strawberry Shortcake, DOVE Peanut Butter Eggs, Starburst Sweet & Sour Jellybeans, and DOVE Milk Chocolate Bunny. But, I am most excited for the Starburst Tropical Jellybeans. I like to take jellybeans with me on my long runs, and these will be perfect! Shhhh! Don’t tell!
Creating holiday memories and traditions unique to our family is important to me. This Easter, we’ll be skipping the bunny shaped cake for dessert and celebrating with an ice cream sundae. With homemade ice cream.
You’re probably thinking that homemade ice cream is labor intensive, but I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be! You’ll love this simple recipe that you can make right in your stand mixer!
I like to chill the bowl for a few hours, but don’t fret if you don’t have room in your freezer. To the bowl of your stand mixer, pour cold heavy cream and whip until soft peaks form. This process takes about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, add sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to another bowl. Stir until well combined.
Chop a few DOVE Peanut Butter Eggs. [Tip: Keep the wrapper on and cut into six sections. I learned this after making quite a mess of my cutting board!] Add the DOVE Peanut Butter Eggs to the sweetened condensed milk mixture.
Fold sweetened condensed milk mixture into the whipped cream. Top with a few more pieces of DOVE Peanut Butter Eggs. Pour into a freezer-proof container and freeze for a minimum of six hours.
Why is this perfect for Easter? Because it makes a wonderful base for the perfect Easter Sundae [did you see what I did there?!].
To make the perfect Easter Sundae, start with a large scoop of homemade chocolate ice cream.
Drizzle chocolate syrup.
Give it a few squirts of whipped cream.
Top with your favorite Easter candy and rainbow jimmies. Or rainbow sprinkles, depending on what part of the country you’re from!
The perfect Easter Sundae and the perfect Easter basket.
What is your favorite candy to top your Easter sundae with?
