With the new year – and new decade – beginning, there is no better time to plan your goals! One thing I plan to do is find affordable ways to invest in myself. It’s easy to sign up for courses and classes, but those aren’t always affordable ways to invest in yourself. They often come with travel expenses and hefty price tags. Read on for a few affordable ways to invest in yourself.
Make Healthy Living a Priority
When I think about what healthy living looks like, it’s a balance of eating well and getting exercise. You don’t have to join a gym with a pricey membership to exercise. If you’re just starting out, buy a pair of athletic shoes and walk outside for 20 minutes per day. You also don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a balanced diet. Look for the bulk bin at the store for things like oats, nuts, and beans. Utilizing the bulk bins allows you to buy only what you need. Choose seasonal produce and reduce the amount of meat you eat. The more you’re cooking at home, the less you will want to go out to eat.
Read Blogs and Books
Blogs and books are affordable ways to invest in yourself. There are blogs on every topic and you can learn many new skills from bloggers. If you have an Amazon Prime Membership, you’re entitled to one free newly released book each month through the Kindle First program. If you don’t own a Kindle, simply download the free Kindle reading app.
Start a Side Hustle
While some side hustles require a significant amount of money to start up, there are many that don’t. You can drive for Uber or Lyft, put your sewing skills to work making zippered travel pouches, or sell a product that you love.
As an ambassador for a health and wellness company, I love that I am truly participating in my life again. I will never forget what it felt like to be a bystander in my own life. Watching everyone around me have fun and make amazing memories while I sat on the sidelines feeling left out – and guilty. I was pushing and pulling myself in too many directions wanting desperately to not live in survival mode any longer.
I am proud to say that I now have the energy, stamina, motivation, and drive to do things that I haven’t done in a long time. This second chance is truly what life is all about, and I want everyone I know to have it too. If you are settling for “going through the motions”, I want you to know – THERE IS MORE OUT THERE. I can help you go after it!
If you’re looking to make some changes and rejoin your life as an active participant and want a way to earn extra money while doing it, I encourage you to join me on this amazing journey today.
Surround Yourself With People Like You
One of the best things I have ever done for myself is get rid of the toxic people in my life. I have found people that have similar values and interests. It may take a bit of you putting yourself out there, but it is possible to find like minded people!
