Got plans on September 27? I want to invite you to experience something so rewarding, so exhausting, and so exhilarating that you’ll be asking when we can do it again! That’s right, I challenge YOU to join me in walking in this year’s Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk.
I know what you’re thinking, I can’t walk a marathon. No worries – in addition to the 26.1 mile route that starts in Hopkinton, participants can opt for a shorter 13.1 mile Wellesley start, you can lace up for 5 miles from Boston College or join the 3 mile route from Dana Farber. All routes finish up at Copley Square where walkers will enjoy live music (yay!) and food (yippie!) Don’t live nearby? Register to be a virtual walker!
The sign up fee is $25 and you can sign up by clicking here and use code BLOG to save $5, making your registration fee just $20.
While I thankfully have not received a cancer diagnosis myself, several people near and dear to me have. Watching them cope with the reality of their new “normal” has been heartbreaking. From chemotherapy treatments, and all that comes with that, to explaining to their children that they cannot go to school anymore because they’re not well; it makes you feel so, so helpless. I feel so fortunate that I have the ability to participate in such a wonderful event to raise money to help the Dana Farber Cancer Center find a cure for cancer.
Cancer affects so many people; you can do something to help fund research to find a cure. Isn’t that an amazing opportunity? Let’s do it together. Sign up today!
