This year, I’ve been reading a lot about building a healthy lifestyle. There are so many ways you can be healthier, whether it is choosing between Clean Eating or the Paleo diet, adopting a vegetarian lifestyle, or following the Mediterranean Diet. It is important to choose a diet that you will be able to follow.
A recent study published by the New England Journal of Medicine found that the Mediterranean Diet decreases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and death from cardiovascular disease by 30 percent! Those who follow a Mediterranean Diet often replace red meats and sweets with a well balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, olive oil, nuts, whole grains, seafood, poultry and select diary products.
I happen to love seafood, fruits, whole grains, and the like. It would be easy for me to survive living on Santorini surrounded by the beautiful blue water and healthy food choices. But, alas, I live on Cape Cod. That’s why I’ll be looking to the folks at Peloponnese® Mediterranean Foods to bring the flavors of Greece to me. Like most toddlers, The Boy is a dipper. One of his favorite dips is hummus. That’s why on our next trip to the grocery store, we’ll be looking for the Peloponnese® hummus spread. It be a perfect dip for him, and a great spread on a wrap with grilled chicken and spinach for me!
