Hello Lovelies! Guess what I’m doing…I’m participating in a 30 Days About Me series hosted by Toni, of A Daily Dose of Toni. You’ll get to learn a lot about me during the month of August.
The prompt for Day 1: Your favorite song
What? How could I fail already? Come on. It’s only Day 1 for crying out loud! I struggle with choosing favorites, so I’ll share with you one of my favorite songs.
I’m a nostalgic gal. Anything that reminds me of days gone by, or that evokes a smell of a particular moment on a particular day, or how I felt at a particular moment. I love being reminded of events in my past.
Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline is one of my favorites because it reminds me of so much. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been a Red Sox fan forever. { I’m such a big fan that The Texan proposed to me at Fenway Park on a warm September evening in 2004. Smart guy, eh?} And since 2002, Sweet Caroline has blasted through the speakers during the eighth inning of every game at Fenway Park.
Where it began
I can’t begin to knowin’
But then I know it’s growin’ strong
Was in the spring
And spring became the summer
Who’d have believed you’d come along
Hands, touchin’ hands
Reachin’ out
Touchin’ me
Touchin’ you
Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I’ve been inclined
To believe they never would
But now I look at the night
And it don’t seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two
And when I hurt
Hurtin’ runs off my shoulders
How can I hurt when I’m with you
Warm, touchin’ warm
Reachin’ out
Touchin’ me
Touchin’ you
Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I’ve been inclined
To believe they never would
Oh, no, no
Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I’ve been inclined
I believed they never could
Sweet Caroline

Such a great song! Have you seen Saving Silverman? If not, the guys in it are die hard Neil Diamond fans. It’s pretty funny.
I haven’t heard that song in FOREVER! Off to youtube I go. 🙂
I adore this song. my grandma, caroline, used to sing it all the time when I was growing up so it stuck with me all these year, now I have it set as her ring tone LOL
