Last month, I shared a lot about my relationship with The Texan, but not too much about me. When I found Tiffany’s amazing 31 Day Blog Challenge, I knew this would be a great way to share things you may not know about me!
1. I wrote a weekly column in my college newspaper.
2. My favorite colors are turquoise, yellow, and gray. Though there are times when I lie to The Boy and tell him that purple is my favorite color.
3. Sometimes I lie. Well, you already knew that I suppose. But, only little lies.
4. In my cabinets and refrigerator, all of the labels must face the correct direction. That means the nutrition information goes toward the back.
5. I hate the smell of eggs. The Texan eats them every day. Isn’t it amazing what we do when we’re in love?!
6. Blow-drying my hair is one of my least favorite things to do. But, I do love how my hair looks when I take the time to do it!
Remember, I’ll be sharing something new and fun everyday during this fabulous 31 Day Blog Challenge! I hope you’re planning to join in the fun. Don’t forget, you can link up your posts every day on Fabulous Finds by Tiffany!

Another label friend! Everyone thinks I’m so bizarre for turning the labels out the proper way ๐
Emily says
Label facing is awesome! So happy to find someone else that is like minded (besides my dad!). My husband thinks I’m crazy, but tolerates it. I think after so many years together he realizes that my way makes sense!
Tiffany Cruz says
My husband is the same way about labels. He says it comes from his years as a grocery store stock boy.
Emily says
I get my habit from my dad – who is ultra-organized about everything. He created an Excel spreadsheet for the grocery store – hangs a copy in the pantry so you can place a check mark when you’ve taken the last of something! I’m not quite that organized, but maybe when my son is older I’ll adopt that system. (More hands in the cabinets!)
Sarah says
It would be nice if I could keep my fridge with the labels facing me. My cupboards are like that.
I agree with the blow drying. My hair looks so much nicer but it takes forever. I have very thick hair. Blow drying is saved for special occasions.
Emily says
Your hair sounds similar to mine. I’ve been using a chamois “camping” towel to dry my hair – it sucks out most of the moisture & reduces the time it takes to blow dry. You might want to try one of those?
Sarah says
Thank you, I’ve never heard of one. I will have to look into it.
Tammy S says
I have to agree with you on the fridge and pantry. I have to have all the labels facing correctly and I make sure everything is rotated when they are put away. Well also the lie lie part. Everyone does that. ๐
Emily says
Yay for being organized! Doesn’t it make life so much easier? I love that I know what I need without having to pick through a bunch of products – the grocery list comes together much quicker!
Sara says
I’m the same way with drying my hair. HATE it, but it’s worth it in the end.
Found you from the 31 day challenge. ๐
Emily says
I wish I could find a way to make it last longer than one day. Maybe I’ll try to sleep standing up?!
Jessi says
“Sometimes I lie.” Love it! Thumbs up to honest lying.
Emily says
Sometimes you have to lie to get through the day, right?!
laura says
Your refrigerator looks so nice and orderly..I’m jealous! ๐
I hate blowing drying my hair too. I just put it in a pony tail wet and let it dry.
Emily says
Thank you! It’s so much easier to find things, keep items rotated (to avoid expired products), and I know what we need from the store! Keeping it this way can be a challenge at times, but for the most part it stays just so!
laura says
It’s awful when something gets pushed to the back and expires! I try to keep things rotated in fridge and pantry for sure!
Emily says
I did find a seasonal beer that was pushed to the back once…that wasn’t such a bad discovery!
Dawn says
I am with you on the blow drying thing. I never do it because I hate it so, lol.

It always feel like my arms are going to break off! I don’t know how stylists can do it all day!
Carmen @ Adventures of the Triple B's says
I’m a little OCD about things in my kitchen too, lol. Mine isn’t in the fridge, but it has to do with my cooking utensils. Everything has to be separated by color. It drives my husband crazy!!
Emily says
Hmmm…I’ve never thought to separate the utensils by color. Most of mine are coordinated, maybe I should replace the oddballs?!
Thanks, Carmen, for the great idea!
Cecile says
Wow! Your fridge is so organized. I can never find anything in mine!
Emily says
It makes my head spin if it isn’t organized!
