Wondering where I was today? After I finished stalking photobucket.com to see what's going on with the "we're doing work" messages all over my blog, I needed to vacuum and wash my floors. I needed to do this today, because it was raining. My dad says that all women wash their floors in the rain. Is this true, or just something that my mom and I do??
You’ll remember that I talked about how much I loathe vacuuming here last week. Well, that hasn’t changed and now I’ve added mopping to the list too. After lugging my heavy vacuum around the house, I got out my Libman Freedom Mop and got to work. After filling the chamber with HOT WATER, I added Mrs. Meyer’s All-Purpose Cleaner pulled the little trigger and scrubbed away. Kitchen floor clean! Hooray!
…until I walked into the kitchen an hour later and my slippers were making a sound as though I was walking through juice that was spilled and never wiped up. That’s odd, I thought. And the sticky sound was everywhere in my kitchen. I knew that I hadn’t missed a spot.
In our basement we had some {very old} Lysol floor cleaner. Reluctantly, I tried that. Same results. At this point, I’m pissed. I wasted so much time cleaning my floors for nothing. I did what any {in}sane woman would do, I poured a quart of vinegar on the floor and wiped it around with an old towel. Good as new. And to avoid wasting any more time in the future, I’m ordering a Steam Mop.
Which cleaning products do you use to clean your floors? Do you have a recommendation for a steam mop?
