We all have different goals and aspirations for the new year. One of my goals for this year is to make my life simpler and fill it with more memorable experiences. When I was thinking about what I wanted for 2014, I knew that I needed to find a way to eliminate time wasting activities – like grocery shopping and multiple trips to the pharmacy for medication refills.
While organizing my iPhone apps the other day, I stumbled upon the Walgreens App and remembered that I could use it for a quick chat with a pharmacist. What else could I do with it? Surprise! The Walgreens App also allows you to refill your prescriptions! I might have shrieked a bit when I discovered that.
Previously, I would call the pharmacy to request that our family’s seven monthly prescriptions be filled.
The Texan suffered chronic heart failure and takes maintenance medications daily ensuring his heart is pumping properly. Refilling so many prescriptions by telephone took a huge chunk of time. Time that could be better spent playing with Legos and other fun toys. By utilizing the Walgreens App for refills, I can quickly refill all of our prescriptions without missing anything!
Walgreens offers several options for refilling using the App. I love being able to manage everyone’s prescriptions from one account and complete all of the refills in one easy step. By always having the app with me, I order our medication refills whenever I have a few minutes to spare. I love making use of time that would have otherwise been wasted – like waiting for your vehicle to have an oil change or arriving a few minutes early to pick up your children from school.
By far, my favorite way to order prescription refills is using the scan feature. This way, I scan one bottle then move it to the side. Once all the bottles are back together I know that I am finished! It’s hard for me to keep track of the names of the medications or the prescription numbers alone, having this option is wonderful!
Even though I’ve had the Walgreens App on my phone for a while, I forgot about all of the amazing features. In addition to ordering my prescription refills, I could also set up Auto Refill or ask that they send me refill reminder emails or texts. Walgreens makes it easy for busy families to manage their medications quickly, and from any location. If you don’t have a smart phone, many of these features are available via the Walgreens website.
What is your favorite way to make your life easier while still getting everything done?

I love how easy scanning the barcode and using the app is! Every month I throw away the bulky boxes my husband’s meds are filled in and then forget the prescription number and waste time having to call for a refill. This looks like it would save me time because all the info would be right there! #client
We have a Walgreens about 5 minutes from us. I never knew they had an app… I will have to show this to my Hubs since he is the one who does so many apps. He will love being able to manage his prescriptions.
What great features!! That’s an easy way to make better use of time when you are in a time crunch.
Walgreens seems to be really on top of making things convenient and effectively so, when we need medical assistance. Thank you for sharing this app!
This is a great app wish we had something like this over here would make life so much easier.
As a busy mama to four children, I can always benefit from saving time. This sounds so easy and right up my alley!
It’s great that they have this. Too bad we don’t have that here, especially after Haiyan. We’re scarce with almost everything!
I’ve used this app before and it really did make ordering my prescriptions so easy!
That is a pretty neat idea & a real time saver! I may have to do that if I ever use Walgreens for the pharmacy 🙂
That’s a very cool and useful app! I love how they even have the QR reader for the prescriptions!
I love that they are making it so easy for their customers.
I have used this app as well it’s so easy, convenient, and hassle free I love it!
Wow, this is so handy that they have an app now – totally saves time and you get to be reminded about it too.
I never knew of Walgreen’s app. How convenient is that. I don’t have a Walgreens near my place cause I could have used thier app.
This looks like a great app
T I wasn’t even aware of this app, but it would definitely be beneficial to myself as well as my family.
An ap for prescription refills? Cool!
I know, right? So convenient, I don’t ‘trust’ that setting refills up to automatically happen (that’s my issue, I am sure that it does work out just fine); so having the app is awesome!
The refill section of that app is so useful!
It’s amazing what technology can do! This is incredibly useful. I think my MIL uses Walgreens for her prescriptions. I wonder if she knows about this app.
