Did y’all hear that I’m a Mac girl now? I finally listened to what The Texan has been saying for months and invested in one. I am so happy that I did. Now, I need to figure out how to use it. I am amazed by everything that it CAN do and look forward to taking some courses, such as Final Cut Pro training, that will help me to improve my skills.
As a stay-at-home mom, it’s important to me to continue to develop my computer skills. The Boy will start kindergarten in 2014 and I might want to reenter the workforce. {Probably not, shhh! Don’t tell The Texan!} It would be awful if my résumé showed that I was only proficient in programs that were released in 2009 and earlier!
With my powerful new MacBook, I feel that a new world has opened for me. I’ve often heard of people talking about all of the cool things that they do with their Macs. Now I’ll be able to them, too! The Final Cut Pro training course will teach me how to edit video like a pro. That’s great because I’d love to start vlogging here occasionally. Wouldn’t that be fun?
What types of online training programs do you use to ensure you’re still relevant in your field?

Well, there are certainly many online courses. Our local community education has some great week long refresher courses and beginner courses. I’m looking at getting a certification in business analysis, my degree is in business, but as time moves on, employers seem to want more specialized knowledge.
