Did you know that one of my best friends from college lives in California? She and her husband bought their first home there last September – and had their first baby the same month, too! The photos that I’ve seen make me long for a warmer climate again. I started browsing Pasadena real estate listings just for fun this week.
Since I know that The Texan would not want to move there – and I’m pretty confident that I wouldn’t really want to live in California full-time either – browsing the homes there gives me great ideas for decorating our Cape Cod home to have a California feel. I have looked at several homes and have found that the homes let in so much light. Our home was built in the 1960s and has little windows, even on the brightest day our home is not as bright as I’d like it to be. Perhaps one thing we could do is replace our windows with larger ones?
One day, I’m sure that we’ll talk about retirement homes. Maybe then I’ll bring up the idea of purchasing a condo in California and a condo on the east coast. It would be fun to be a bi-coastal retiree. By that time, we should be able to strap on a shoe that transports us in minutes!
Where do you want to retire?
