I have mixed emotions about sending The Boy off officially to preschool. It’s hard to believe that he’s three and ready for a “structured” daily curriculum. We’re excited about his school and know that it will be a wonderful journey for him. Early education is the foundation for his entire school “career” and I know we’re making the right choice. The school supplies morning and afternoon snack, and we’re responsible for packing his lunch.
Lunches made easy with Glad Food Storage
The Boy is a selective eater at home, but get him around his friends and he’ll try anything! I’m so excited to send him off to school with a variety of bright and colorful items. The Glad Food Storage containers make it easy to pack different items into his lunch box.
He’ll be enjoying cherry tomatoes from my dad’s garden. I know the cherry tomatoes will be safe in his lunch box and won’t be squished by the time The Boy and his friends sit down for lunch.
Don’t they look delicious? There are a few left, so I may have a enjoy some with my lunch!
For his main course, I know he’ll love this easy-to-make Greek pasta salad.
Be sure to make this Greek pasta salad the day before you want to eat it, the flavors need time to develop. While a box of mini penne is boiling, thinly slice a red onion and a green bell pepper. Once the mini penne has cooked, rinse it well with COLD water then add the red onion, green bell pepper, Greek salad dressing, and feta cheese crumbles. Mix well and store in a Glad Food Storage container in the refrigerator.
I also give him a yogurt and a cup with a blend of half water and half juice.
It’s comforting to know that the Glad Food Storage containers will hold up to rough and tumble toddlers!
What are you packing for your children’s school lunch this year? Will you be trying any new recipes?
I have partnered with The Glad Products Company through DailyBuzz Moms to help promote their Food Storage products. I have been compensated for my time commitment to review this product. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments. Thank you GLAD!
I love Glad products. Those look awesome! Wonderful review!
I’d die without Glad containers, seriously! Thanks for the great review.
The small Glad containers are perfect for school lunches and we use them a lot too.
Congrats on getting your 3 year old to Greek pasta salad. While my 3.5 year old daughter will eat a lot of different things, she still insists on only eating butter and cheese on her pasta. I did get her to eat some chicken, broccoli, and ziti though and that was a major success!
Those are great for lunches! My LO is still way too young (as in, we haven’t even introduced solid foods. lol.) but this is the perfect way to pack lunches, and since they’re so inexpensive, it’s no big deal if your kiddo leaves a container in the cafeteria or on the bus!
That Greek Pasta sounds amazing! The kids at school will be jealous of his tasty and healthy lunch!!! And using those storage containers is a fantastic idea!!! I was thinking or reorganizing my kitchen and need to invest in a whole bunch of containers so I can remove all the unnecessary bags and clutter. So those are really useful for that too or even in the fridge!
I love Glad containers, they are so handy! I love packing snacks like fruits, veggies and dips-Glad containers are perfect for this!
I like Glad products, but I usually use our LunchBots – well, until I forget them in my bus. Then I use the Glad! LOL!
My girls are picky eaters and won’t touch sandwiches, so their lunches look a lot like your little one’s. I’ll have to try your pasta salad recipe!
I wish I could use my Gladware for my daughter’s lunches but they’re a little too difficult to open by herself and that’s one of the preschool rules.
