While The Texan’s mom and dad were here visiting, we all took The Boy to see the new Disney Planes movie. Have you heard of it?! The movie was a wonderful off-shoot of Disney Pixar Cars the movie. Proof that movies can be fun for the whole family! After a great week of spending time with family, I thought it would be nice to have a few of The Boy’s friends come over and celebrate summer with a Disney Planes and Disney Pixar Cars party! Once The Boy and I dropped his grandparents off at the airport, and saying our “See You Soons!”, we headed to Walmart to pick out Disney Planes and Cars toys and party supplies that we needed. You can see our entire shopping trip in this Google+ album.
The party was great fun. Seeing children interact with their peers is one of my favorite things about parenting. When I thought about sharing this party with you, I initially expected to be writing about the children playing together and having fun. But, I was so impressed with the product line, that I have to tell you about that instead!
I knew that we’d need decorations and I wouldn’t have time to make them myself. Mostly the energy to make them myself, but let me blame it on time. Okay?! The party supply aisle at Walmart was fully stocked with everything that you need for a great party.
There was a great pin the headlight on Mater game. I thought this would be a blast with older children. The three- and four-year old group doesn’t have the attention span to wait while others take turns pinning. I don’t remember playing “Pin the” games until the second grade. I turned six in second grade.
Snack caddies, and party favors. Depending on how large your party is, you could grab several snack caddies and centerpieces without going over budget. I’m not a fan of centerpieces, so we skipped those.
I couldn’t resist the yo-yos, the cute cups that came in several designs, and the activity books.
Our place settings were simple, but the products were high quality and we didn’t have to worry about leaking cups or plates. The Boy wanted to put the Disney Planes and Disney Pixar Cars on the table. It did look cute.
We hung the decorations from the ceiling
and taped them to the walls.
We wanted to make sure to have all of the Disney Planes toys ready to go for when our friends arrived. I submitted another entry for parent of the year after putting together the Aircraft Carrier! It went from it’s lovely packaging, that was so easy to open:
To being completely set up in just a few minutes. I was so impressed that I put it together by myself! Typically, I have to wait for The Texan to do things like this. He’s more patient than I am.
We’ve been playing with the Disney Planes toys daily, and they’re quite durable. Just like our Disney Pixar Cars toys. I feel confident knowing that the Disney Walmart products, while affordable, are durable. It’s tough to find quality children’s toys at affordable prices. I’m thankful that Disney is keeping up with the high quality they’re known for. Be sure to head into your local soon, the Cars the movie toys won’t be around much longer!

So fun! We didn’t get the Cars Aircraft carrier and my kids are drooling over yours. ๐
It’s an awesome toy! We’ve been having a blast with it.
What an awesome price on those decorations! My nephew is obsessed with cars!
It was a great deal! I see many Disney Cars the movie themed parties in our future – or at least fun playdates!
My boys would LOVE a planes party. You did a really great job selecting all the party decor to make it spectacular! Thanks for sharing. ๐
Deanna
Thanks! And I am excited that the decorations are so durable we’ll be able to use them in the future! We have long, cold winters on Cape Cod – I think another party is going to make it to the winter calendar!
Love the Cars cup!!
Oh my gosh, cute!!! ANd how fun!!
It was!! Though I think I’m having as much fun playing with the planes and aircraft carrier as the kids did!
I cannot wait until Planes comes out!!! I am so excited!! ๐
It’s out now! Hurry to the theater to see it. I’m waiting, rather impatiently, for the Blu-ray/DVD release. I’m hoping it will be out for Christmas.
Love the decorations ๐
These look so cute and fun! My 3 year old little boy would love them!
Very fun! We’ve been having a blast with the toys!
Oh not going to show my kids this post as they will want it all! Though the prices really are great.
The prices are great – as is the quality! I’m very impressed with how durable the party decorations are. I used tape to stick them to the wall, the tape pulled off easily and did not remove any of the paper with it. The decorations hanging from the ceiling came pre-hung with fishing line (I think it is fishing line, anyhow!), so all you need to do is tape it. Easy and reusable! Win-win!
Soo fun! We want to see this movie so bad! I love the party decorations you picked out! Looks like a fun party to me!
I totally love the Cars and Planes themed parties I am seeing. You look like your kids had a great time.
Thanks, Jennifer. It was a blast – and I’ve been hearing a lot of requests to have another party soon. Maybe we’ll have a Planes DVD release party?!
Great find! Gotta love a good deal that the kiddos will love too! xo
