The Christmas countdown is in full swing, friends! I am so excited to have two full weeks to spend with The Boy without having to stick to our typical schedule. You know the one, rush home from school, make dinner, bath time, reading time, bed time, wake up early…no weekday fun! Life is supposed to be an adventure, full of fun and laughter.
It’s inevitable that Santa is going to swing by and drop half a sack full of toys under the tree, one thing The Boy is most looking forward to are Disney Planes Fire & Rescue die cast vehicles. One of Santa’s helpers was shopping at her neighborhood Walmart a few days ago and spied SEVERAL Disney Planes Fire & Rescue items on ROLLBACK!! Woo-hoo, Santa is saving money even during the holiday season!
The Boy loves to work on craft projects both at school and at home. Inspired by all of the great merchandise on rollback, I decided that we’d have a Disney Planes Fire & Rescue model plane activity.
Kid’s Craft Idea: Make Disney Planes Fire & Rescue inspired model planes
What You’ll Need:
Model Plane Kit {my local craft store carries a 4-pack for under $3, but you can also make them from clothespins.}
Craft Glue
Acrylic Paints in the colors of your choice
Paint Pen for detailed work
Paint brushes
Small paper cups or a paper plate for paint
What You’ll Do:
Have a helper assemble the model planes if you’re not able to follow photo instructions {that’s me, friends!}. I’m thankful that The Texan doesn’t mind putting together model planes! He even modified one to look like a Bi-Plane {Hello, Leadbottom!}
Once your wooden planes are assembled and the wood glue has dried, you {or your child} can begin painting them.
The Boy had a great time painting Pontoon Dusty!
I finished up by adding Dusty’s number and to the wing and the tail.
This project is a wonderful way to incorporate the great Disney Planes Fire & Rescue merchandise into a family craft project.
What do you think, does my Pontoon Dusty model resemble the real thing?

It definitely resembles the real thing! You did a fantastic job on your Dusty! I have a tendency to glue my fingers together so I make my 13 year old do all that mess. 🙂 #client
