If you follow me on Twitter, then you know that I’ve been test driving the all new, completely amazing for the last few days.
I am thrilled about this opportunity because The Texan and I are in the market for a new vehicle. The timing is perfect, and a week long test drive lets you know if the vehicle is right for your family. We currently have a sedan and an SUV, we’re not particularly attached to either vehicle. However, adding another SUV to our small family didn’t sit well with me until I learned how environmentally conscious the 2013 Ford Escape is. The cushions and head restraints in the 2013 Escape use a bio-based polyurethane foam derived from the oils of various plant seeds such as soybeans. Ford uses about 25 recycled 20-ounce bottles in the carpeting on every trim level.
In addition to the environmental features, the 2013 Ford Escape has multiple safety features including the foot-activated lift gate, SYNC with MyFordTouch allowing hands-free use of your phone via Bluetooth, active parking assist, and a remote starter for those cold Cape Cod mornings! (Of course, it would work in other parts of the country, too!) There is plenty of legroom, headspace, and cargo room for The Boy and I to zip around town doing our regular errands. The fuel economy is best in it’s class, and impressive at an estimated 28MPG highway (21 City) for the Titanium model I’m driving.
A few more posts are forthcoming, but for now I’m hopping back in the driver’s seat! Be sure to follow along as I #escapetheride on Twitter and Instagram!
Disclosure: I was provided with the use of a 2013 Ford Escape for one week in order to facilitate this review. No additional compensation was received. All thoughts, experiences and opinions shared are my own, and yours may vary.
