When I looked out my window yesterday morning, the sun was shining brightly. That, coupled with the pink and purple tulips on my dining room table reminded me of spring. The meteorologists will tell you that it’s “Meteorological Spring” starting on March 1; but the two feet of snow on the ground remind you that it really IS winter! As tired as I am of the snow, I know that it won’t last forever. It’s time to get ready for the warmer weather, it will be here before we know it!
As the weather warms up, we tend to enjoy more frozen concoctions – whether it’s milkshakes, soft serve ice cream cones from our favorite ice cream shop, or delicious frozen yogurt popsicles at home. I love refreshing, delicious snacks made with better for you ingredients. You can imagine that I nearly lunged at this in-store display near the check out line at my neighborhood Walmart.
DOVE® Fruit combines the wellness benefits of dark chocolate with fruits. They’ve combined my favorite whole fruit (cherries, blueberries, and cranberries) and dipped them in silky smooth DOVE® Dark Chocolate. These were practically begging to become a mix-in for frozen yogurt popsicles!
This recipe is so rewarding – both in terms of taste and clean up! Grab your favorite whole milk yogurt, fresh fruit, cocoa powder, the DOVE® Fruit of your choice, and popsicle molds.
To my single-serve blender, I added french vanilla whole milk yogurt and a few strawberries and whirled it around a bit. Strawberries and blueberries go so well together, don’t you agree?
Once the frozen strawberries were incorporated into the yogurt, I poured the mixture into the popsicle mold taking care not to fill it all the way.
Then I added a small amount of the DOVE® Fruit blueberries. I repeated this with three of the popsicle molds.
The next flavor combination that I made was chocolate blueberry. I combined cocoa powder and french vanilla whole milk yogurt in my single-serve blender. It tasted amazing chilled, I couldn’t wait to taste it frozen!
Again, I poured the yogurt mixture into the popsicle molds and added a few of the DOVE® Fruit blueberries.
Here comes the hard part. Waiting for them to freeze.
It takes about three hours; but I didn’t want to share (just being honest, friends!) so I left mine in over night.
When I slid the popsicle out of the mold for the first time, I drooled a bit.
Sunshine + Frozen Yogurt Popsicle = An Amazing Day
The strawberry yogurt with DOVE® Fruit blueberries was so delicious. It was the perfect mid-morning snack. Because I’ve used yogurt, I’d even consider giving one to The Boy for breakfast! That is, IF I decide to share them!
