How do we accumulate so much “stuff”?!
It’s Spring, so I have the cleaning bug. One room that I want to tackle is my creative space. Calling it an office sounds too professional, and not creative. It’s a room that used to be The Texan’s office, but I took it over last August with lofty plans of making it into a sewing-crafting-writing room for me.
And then we had our home insulated. The room was torn apart. And then I had surgery on my elbow. And I have not opened the door to that space since November. The room looks like there was an explosion, or possibly a teen living in there. Sadly, neither is the case. It’s all of our “stuff”. A mix of my sewing-crafting goodies, DVDs that will never be watched again, books that will never be read, and other assorted goodies.
I decided to see if the Glad Black Bags could hold up to all of these books and DVDs that I am going to donate. It was impressive how much “stuff” can fit into one bag! The Glad Black Bags are durable, and large enough so that I won’t feel like I’m living in an episode of that program about hoarders any longer!
If I wasn’t so embarrassed, I would show you a photo. I promise!
You’ve heard the saying “One Man’s Trash is Another Man’s Treasure”, right? Glad Black Bag has teamed up with the Picker Sisters – best friends and interior designers Tracy Hutson and Tanya McQueen – to celebrate and cleanup those wild moments, and then find ways to reuse discarded items. These ladies are believers in that phrase. I wonder what they could do with my old books?
Keeping with the theme “trash to treasure,” Glad Black Bag is working with Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanups across the country to collect items that will be used by a mosaic artist to turn them into works of art. Four pieces of art will be auctioned off during the Glad Black Bag art auction on eBay for consumers to bid on, with proceeds benefiting Keep America Beautiful’s Great America Cleanup events. This is my favorite piece from the art auction:
Hurry over to check out the other great items that are being auctioned off – the auction ends today!
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Glad Black Bag and received a Glad Black Bag product and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. I was also asked to “pin” one (1) Glad Black Bag Art Auction photo on Pinterest.

I agree! I’m always so impressed with artists and how they repurpose so many items that I toss/recycle!
