When I first started blogging, I thought that I was “tech savvy” despite thinking that a dedicated server was a person assigned to take care of you and your party at a restaurant. Little did I know that a dedicated server could provide so much power in terms of running a website. The folks at Hivelocity are an excellent resource for dedicated servers.
There are many benefits to having a dedicated server. You won’t have to worry about your website crashing if there is too much traffic on the server that you’re sharing. Also, should you write a post that goes viral, you won’t have to worry about crashing other people’s websites either. No one likes to ruin a party, right?
A great thing about dedicated servers is that they are fully customizable to meet your needs. No worries if your friend has theirs designed a certain way, yours doesn’t have to be the same. Typically you can choose which type of hardware which best suit your traffic.
As my blog grows, I continue to research what’s best for my blog in the months and years ahead. Although I do not currently have enough traffic where I feel a dedicated server would suit me, one day I hope to!
Do you use a dedicated server? What has your experience been like?
