The Texan brings or sends me flowers often, so I do not need to receive flowers on Valentine’s Day. Evidently, FTD agrees with that too. This is the story of how they ruined The Texan’s day.
On February 2 of this year, The Texan visited the FTD website, chose and paid for a beautiful arrangement of red roses and Gerber daisies which was to be delivered to our home on February 14. Everything was going just as according to his plan…until yesterday morning.
He received a call from FTD customer service YESTERDAY letting him know that the arrangement he’d chosen was not available in our area, in fact it had been discontinued! Did I mention that yesterday was a Sunday?! They asked him to please choose something else. After going back and forth with the FTD Rep for nearly an hour, being told “No, that isn’t available in your area” he was (finally) told that the only type of flowers that could be delivered to our area on Valentine’s Day were arrangements with pink carnations. Really? How is that the same?
When all was said and done, The Texan cancelled the order and FTD (supposedly) issued a refund.
While it’s not a big deal to me that I’m sitting in my house looking at a vase full of wilted flowers from last week’s trip to the market. It is a big deal to me that FTD discontinued a product that was advertised as available for delivery on a specific date. AND that product was pre-paid. AND FTD gave The Texan no warning. Where did they think he’d find roses on February 14? They really screwed him. I’m pissed at FTD for how they treated my husband.
I hate to write such an awful rant, I really do. However, my fingers simply refuse to keep all of these emotions stuck inside of me. Phew, I do feel better now. Thanks for reading.
