There are so many ways to add personalized touches to your home. One way is through seasonal decor. Today, I’m sharing an easy way to paint a pillow cover. It’s an affordable and easy way to add a bit of fun to your home.
To make a personalized pillow cover, you need a simple cotton pillow cover, fabric paint, and stencil in the design of your choice.
Grab a multi-pack of stencils and a few choices of paint colors so you can easily change the look of your home.
In our den, we have a black leather couch. While it is comfy, it isn’t as feminine as the white couch in our living room. Adding a little paint to a cotton pillow cover helps cozy things up a bit.
Be sure to pre-wash your cotton pillow cover before working with it! You’ll start by applying the spray adhesive to the back of your stencil. Keep in mind that there there might be a bit of over spray, placing your stencil in a cardboard box will help to contain the stickiness.
Affix the stencil to the pillow cover where you would like the design to show up. I centered mine.
Using a paint roller, roll a thin coat of fabric paint over your stencil.
Wait a for it to dry throughly before removing the stencil.
Slip the pillow insert into your painted pillow cover and you’re ready to go!
