If you’ve been stopping by the blog regularly, than you’re already aware that I love to share my week in photos from Instagram photos almost every Friday (I lost track of Friday last week, or something.). It’s a great way to give you a little peak into my {super awesome} life and share my quirkiness too. (I’m @naptimeismytime on Instagram and would love you to follow me over there!) I link this post with the awesome InstaFriday series over at LifeRearranged. You should check that out too, lots of great photos and great ladies hanging out!
We’ve been busy the last couple of weeks, I like to be busy. Exploring. Doing. Experiencing. I love that.
November sunsets are early and amazing. I snapped this picture at our local Habitat for Humanity Restore. (More on that later. Lots of awesomeness in that place!)
Our indoor kitty had a visitor from a neighbor’s outdoor kitty. I’m certain that our kitty was asking for help to break out. Lately, The Boy has been trying to ride her like a horse. I don’t think she cares for that too much.
The Texan and I decided to invest in some new pots and pans. We received our old set as a wedding gift in 2005 and the teflon coating was starting to peel off. Gross, right? I mean, where does it go? (In my belly??) Our new pots are so shiny. I love them. Do you see that pasta strainer??? I’ve wanted one of those FOREVER.
Naturally, I couldn’t wait to get cooking! I made popcorn – my favorite! And look what happened to my poor new pan. High heat? Not enough oil? Not paying attention to the pan? Yeah, all of that contributed to this.
I took to my Facebook page and Instagram feed for advice on how to clean. I used three different methods, and lots of elbow grease. Check it out! Shiny and new again! So, I cooked popcorn again.
And speaking of weddings, The Texan and I celebrated eight years of marriage! It’s been such an awesome adventure. Two states, four homes, one kid, and lots of love! We received these champagne glasses from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on our wedding night. What an adventure that was! 50 amazing friends and family joining us in an super fantastic city to watch us tie the knot. Too cool!
We were fortunate enough to send The Boy off with his grandparents for the weekend. Naturally, we kicked off the day with mimosas. Smart and tasty. I love mimosas. I’d drink them every weekend if I could. Hmm…what’s stopping me?
I made this fun sign for our dining room in honor of our anniversary. The coordinates are for Mandalay Bay. I love how it turned out. Maybe I have a new business in the works?!
The Boy is into super heroes. Just like all boys his age, I suppose. I made him a felt super hero mask. He loved it. I made a template first because I didn’t really know what I was doing. I was a bit too ambitious in trying to make it reversible – it’s small, and lining up the eye holes was a challenge.
Have you been following along with my #SoxyLady posts on Instagram? I’m sharing photos of my socks as a way to ease into the winter. I hate having my toes covered. But, flip flops really aren’t practical this time of year!
It’s a good thing I’ve been wearing socks and getting my feet used to being confined. We’ve already had our first snowfall. Friends, it is going to be a long, long weekend!
What are you doing with yours?
