It’s a new year! Time for growth, reflection, and change. Time to focus. To determine goals and what it takes to reach them. To discover if you’re living your best life, cultivating meaningful relationships, and making moments count.
Often, you’ll realize that there is much room for improvement. Sometimes that can feel like a slap in the face with a stick.
For me, last year was the year of being present. It was about really experiencing life and loving it. Living in the moment.
We played games.
We ate healthy.
We ate not so healthy.
We remembered fallen heroes.
We spent time as a family.
We worked on projects together.
We did a lot together. And I was present for all of it. Despite having my camera or camera phone seemingly tethered to my body; I was in the moment. All of the them.
Focusing on being present has opened my eyes to the other interests that I have. My creative side has come out in full force, and I am excited about the possibilities that are ahead of me! The Boy will be turning five in July and starting kindergarten in the fall. I’ve often thought about what I will do while he is learning, growing, doing, and achieving.
I am going to do the same.
I am going to go after those dreams, hopes, and ideas that I’ve been sitting on. Think: personal growth, professional growth, and a new adventure.
In one little word: pursue.
Do you have one little word for 2014?
Thien-Kim says
What a great year you had! My word for 2014 is EMBRACE.
Emily says
Oh – embrace. That is a good word! Will you be blogging your experience/evolution/journey?
Martha says
Present is my word for 2014! It looks like it treated you really well last year, and I hope I can recapture it the same as you! Best wishes in your pursuit! You will rock it.
Emily says
Awesome! 2013 was great for me – I did a lot of unplugging and focused on being present and living in the moment! Hope being present in 2014 brings as much joy to you as it did for me.
