It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Which means it’s time to create some fun handmade holiday gift ideas. Today, I am sharing a simple recipe for Rosemary Sea Salt. Rosemary Sea Salt is the perfect gift to include in a gift basket for a neighbor, as gift for a teacher who loves to cook, or as a hostess gift this holiday season.
And, it’s quick and easy to make. That’s a win in my book, especially this time of year!
What You’ll Need
Fresh Rosemary Sprigs, stems removed
Sea Salt {Morton’s Kosher Salt works FANTASTIC and saves a lot of money, too!}
4oz Mason Jars or the super cute 2.7oz Weck Jars
Parchment Paper
Baking Sheet
KitchenAid Food Processor or Heavy Duty Blender, like a Ninja
Rosemary Sprigs smell so good.
What You’ll Do
Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
In the bowl of your food processor, add three cups of kosher salt and 5 sprigs of Rosemary.
Pulse until well combined. It’s ready when the salt is the consistency of regular table salt.
Pour rosemary sea salt mixture onto the baking sheet and place in a 200 degree oven for 20 minutes.
It’s possible that your salt may cook together, resulting in large salt formations on your baking sheet. If this happens, give the cooked salt a quick whirl around in the food processor.
Let salt cool about 5 minutes before decanting into jars.
Take care to ensure there is no salt around the rim before adding the lid and a cute label.
This recipe will make 6-8 jars. Rosemary Sea Salt is the perfect grab and go hostess gifts for this busy holiday season. What are your favorite hostess gifts to give or receive?
