Last night, we were so fortunate to attend opening night of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical at the Shubert Theater in Boston. It was amazing!
If you’ve seen the original TV show, you won’t be disappointed. The Musical is JUST LIKE IT! The set is gorgeous and the actors are fantastic.
Rudolph, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, and all the others were so lifelike. The Boy couldn’t get enough!
The first intermission came after about 45 minutes, and The Boy said “Mommy, Can we stay for the whole thing? Please?!” I guess he wanted to make sure his quick trip for a box of M&Ms and a stuffed Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer toy was going to end with him being ushered out the door!
You can see the first post about this fabulous musical for more details.
What I want to highlight today is the productions will also tie in with the #ShineBright social media campaign which is a celebration of uniqueness that will be championed by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. Workshops, lesson plans and special performances will use the story as a platform for teaching important lessons about diversity and tolerance.
Unfortunately, bullying is even more prevalent now than it was in 1964. This holiday season, as we talk about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, we’ll be talking about our differences and how unique we all are. It’s great to attend a family-focused event and have a teachable moment with The Boy during the holiday season.
