Move more, lose more. Eat less, lose more. Eat well, lose more. Drink less alcohol, lose more.
I am so motivated to lose more that I am doing all of those things! {Well, there was that one Friday night where I renewed my love affair with bourbon.} I’ll cut right to the good stuff: My total weight loss since starting the Shaklee180 program is 9.5 pounds. People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee180 Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week, and I am right on target. One thing that I’ve noticed is that my weight fluctuates a lot. I weigh myself the same day each week, and notice that some weeks my weight goes up (ugh. so not fun.) and other weeks it goes down by 2 or more pounds. This is probably due to water weight and general bloatiness. But, I wanted to share it with you in case you’re trying to lose weight, too. Don’t be discouraged by the number on your scale.
Each week, I take my weight and measurements. I find the loss of inches to be more inspiring and motivating than just the pounds. Since starting the program in March, I’ve been tracking the inches lost from my arms, waist, hips, and bust. In April I decided to include my thighs. Because I hate them. So far, I’ve lost a combined 21.5 inches. HOLY MOLY! Yep, you read that correctly. 21.5 inches is a ton! My jeans are loose, my tops are no longer snug. I feel comfortable and happy to be in my own skin.
The warmer weather has given me the boost to move more, too. I’ve taken The Boy on several long walks on Cape Cod’s beautiful nature trails. He’s a trooper, and walks the whole time; generally more than a mile. That’s pretty far when you’re only 41 inches tall! I also ordered a great yoga video from Amazon and signed up for the 100X100 Challenge which kicks off May 1 {but you can still sign up!}.
As I look toward May, and what I want for myself a smile comes to my face as I realize I might be able to wear clothing that I didn’t wear last Spring. Weather permitting, of course.

Yes, I am motivated – though there are some days where I’m sort of in a “food rut”. I changed up my snacks a bit this week, now to find some quick meal ideas for the nights that The Texan is not home for dinner.
