When I think about something I miss, the list seems to be endless. It grows and grows. The more I think about something I miss, the longer it gets. So, before you’re reading this post until the cows come home, I’ll stop thinking about it and just write.
I miss my “old life” in Florida. Mostly the friends and the great restaurants.
I miss my mom. Remember, she packed up and moved to Arizona back in September.
I miss the summer, and everything that goes along with it.
I miss riding roller coasters every weekend with The Texan.
I miss my old body. You know, the pre-mom body.
I miss my former best friend. But, then I remember what kind of person she truly is and I realize that I don’t miss her; I miss having a best girl friend.
I miss my twenties, but look forward with delight at my forties. I’m sort stuck in my thirties right now, while it has been wonderful I’ve heard so many great things about the forties that I really can’t wait to get there. But, totally not trying to rush things! Promise!
That felt good. Thank you. So, tell me – what are you missing?

Funny, but now that I am 41, I miss my 30’s! Such a great time in my life.
I also miss PA—walking barefoot on the grass and laying on the grass with no blanket. Here in GA if you tried to do that you’d be devoured by red ants.
And how could I forget…I miss my sister who lives in PA.
I have never lived in a warmer climate, but I miss summer always. Reaching your blog through social fabric – welcome to the neighborhood
I am missing cocktails with my friends. Long nights of dancing and conversation. I miss walks, mountains in the sky and the smell of the breeze off the water in Seattle. le sigh
Yes, cocktails with friends would be wonderful. It’s tough growing up, and adapting to change. Isn’t it?!
What a wonderful round up. I can learn so much about you just by reading this one post. Love it!
Thanks so much!
I too miss my pre-mom body.
I miss
…my high school friends. I talk to many of them regularly but miss seeing them everyday.
…high school football games
…dancing
…flirting
…getting rowdy on a Saturday night
…my cowboy boots!
…my dad
…dating my husband (with two kids we don’t get out much – we gotta change that!)
Thanks Emily!
In my mind, I imagine that all moms miss their pre-mommy bodies. Sigh. It’s tough. I wouldn’t trade my son for the world, but it would be nice to feel comfortable with the body I have. I’m working toward focusing more on the “inches” than the number on the scale. It’s tough, but at least I’m trying.
I think your list is great, but would you believe that I’ve never seen a high school football game?! My high school didn’t have a team – not enough kids or something!
Thank you, Emily! Never been to a high school football game?! I went to an all girls Catholic school and was a little football player obsessed so I took every any chance to see the boys play at the all boys Catholic school 🙂 Some of my best high school memories… Thank you for starting this post. It was fun to go down memory lane. It was also a good reminder that my hubby and I need more dates!
