For the better part of the summer, The Boy and I have been using the Teach My Preschooler kit to help develop his skills and prepare him for preschool this fall. (I’m not sure what’s going to prepare ME for having a preschooler!)
I love that the kit is divided into four sections giving you the opportunity to work on a specific skill. The kit is a hands on learning kit that actively engages your child in developing their Reading, Printing, Numbers to 100, Adding and Subtracting skills – without the use of a DVD!
When we work with our kit, we use it after The Boy has put all of his other “work” away. It is easy for toddlers to become distracted, and having everything else put away helps him to focus on the task we’re working on. I’ve found that working on each activity is 20 – 30 minute spurts is long enough to hold his attention and keep him engaged.
Ready to Read gives your child a head start in learning to read. The kit includes a simplified approach to learning letter sounds, reading aloud, 60 vocabulary works and levelled reader books. By following the 10 step approach, your preschooler will become a reader.
Ready to Print teaches your child the proper position of a pencil (or other writing utensil) and fine motor skills. In just 20 minutes per day, your child will develop their handwriting and learn to print legibly. Using the magic board with transparencies, your preschooler will learn uppercase and lowercase letters as well as numbers to 100!
Ready for 1 to 100 introduces your preschooler to number recognition, number words and counting skills up to 100. The train flashcards include numbers 1 to 100 and a train engine. This activity was The Boy’s favorite and he is excited to build the train and learn how the numbers progress. The flashcards, coupled with the soft cover book, poster and foam numbers will have your child counting to 100 in no time!
Ready for Math introduces the use of counters, foam numbers and equation signs as a way to help your preschooler understand the value of numbers. Combining the addition and subtraction flip books, addition and subtraction posters, with the 5 counters and foam numbers, your preschooler will develop problem solving skills .
The company was created by Christy Cook, a mom who was searching for an all-in-one kit to teach her own child. Each kit is well coordinated and includes a variety of activities from flashcards to posters to a drawing board. She thought of everything when putting the kits together – everything comes in a durable carrying case! Keeping all of the tools together and easily accessible is important to me.
I have noticed an increase in his skills, and that he is eager to learn. The Teach My Preschooler kit is a fun and engaging way to teach your child the skills that are the foundation for his life.

My son will be entering pre-school in the fall, and this sounds like a great kit to have to work with him at home as well!
These seem very helpful! I would love to be able to teach my kids when they are older!
I love the hands on, DVD-less interactive concept of this learning tool (just by reading your post!). This is something I would want for my daughter, so I am definitely entering the giveaway!
Wow! Sounds like a great product. I really love learning tools especially ones with introductory reading with letter sounds and vocabulary exposure. I can’t wait for this giveaway!!! If not I know what’s on my son’s bday wish list ๐
Very cool – I will have to check it out for Finn ๐
I’m having a tough time getting my daughter to figure out the right pencil position. This sounds like it would be really helpful!
I love that the kit covers all different activities (math, numbers, reading). It would be perfect for my son!
have the other teach my kits. Would love to try this one out too.
Great Review. It’s funny how the greatest products are created by mom’s like ourselves! its a great inspiration also, other than a great product. Thanks for the review! I can’t wait to purchase the baby kit and see how it goes ๐
We really need the Ready to Print for our dd! The Ready for 1 to 100 would be handy too since she can only count to 20 right now! I am so afraid she’s going to be behind in pre-k this fall! LOL
These kits are so nice for little ones just learning the basics of letters, numbers, etc. What a great tool for helping them get a jump start on learning, while also being a wonderful way to spend some one on one time together. Thanks for the review!
