{Sorry this is a few days late, I realized that I didn’t schedule it to publish!}
We’re heading into the home stretch! I’m so proud of us for sticking with this challenge all summer long. I’ve been telling friends, friends of friends and complete strangers all about it too. I’ve got to tell you, most people continue to look at me like I’m nuts. And then immediately ask “Can I touch your hair?” I’m more open to them touching my hair than I was to strangers touching my belly when I was pregnant with The Boy. {That’s just too intrusive for me.}
My daily “washing” routine has changed as compared to the month of May, when I was using traditional shampoo and conditioner. I was washing a few times a week, and conditioning every day. When I embarked on this pledge, I tried to follow a similar pattern. I managed to get through the “oily period” just fine, and now find myself using the baking soda rinse about once a week. I do rinse with vinegar every day, but that’s mostly because I swim in the ocean regularly this time of year and know the damage salt water can do to your hair.
Special tip for swimmers: After swimming in the ocean, or a pool, be sure to rinse your hair with fresh water. This will help to protect your hair from drying out. Leftover beer works well, too. {Yes, we bring beer to the beach. And, yes, I have used it to rinse my hair and to quench my thirst!}
For fun, here’s a picture taken at the beach. I wear a flopping hat and big sunglasses because it makes me feel like a celebrity protects me from the elements!
How have you been doing? And to those of you who haven’t linked up with us, what are you waiting for??
The Pledge
I am committing to using only baking soda and vinegar to clean my hair from Memorial Day to Labor Day. {Please link ONLY to your blog home page. No giveaways, contests or promotions. Thanks!}
