This week marked a lot of excitement for our family. We wrapped up the summer with a great day at the beach.
One of my favorite things about living on Cape Cod is being able to drive over the sand and on to the beach. There is something so serene about getting away from it all.
Sunday was a bit cloudy, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the day.
Tuesday was a big day of firsts for us!
The Boy is officially a Kindergartener. I created a back to school survival kit for moms, and I certainly need it this week!
He was so proud. New backpack. New lunch box. New experiences. School starts on time; we were prompt.
My favorite thing about Kindergarten so far? The ease at which he heads to bed. No more whining about not being tired. No more crying that it isn’t time yet because it is still light outside.
Another big deal for us…
The Texan started an exciting new chapter in his rugby career – coaching for Massachusetts Maritime Academy! I am so excited for him and proud of all that he does to give back to the sport he loves so much!
What have I been doing? Trying to find my place around these two guys with busy schedules, accepting an empty table at lunch time every day, and realizing that summer is drawing to a close.
Being a grown up is tough, sometimes. I think I’ll go make some chocolate chip cookies.
Cookies make things better.
