In mind head, it hasn’t been over a month since I’ve shared our week in photos with you. The reality of it seems to be true, though. I snap between 500 – 1000 photos per month. You’d think a FEW would make it into one of these blog posts, right? One goal for the remainder of 2014 is to publish our photos weekly. It’s only eight blog posts. I can do it.
The last seven days we were busy. Busy living life, making messes, oh, and trick-or-treating.
Our local Whole Foods Market hosted a fun paint-your-own-pumpkin activity for the kids. The Boy was so excited to dress in his pirate costume a few days before Halloween and show it off!
Whole Foods Market also offered trick-or-treating. Hands down, the best treats.
To prep for school this week, The Boy got his mystery item ready for Monday. Every week, he has to choose a mystery item to bring from home. His classmates guess what is in the bag based on the clues he provides. It’s a wonderful way for the children to develop critical thinking skills, patience (each has to wait their turn to ask a question), and public speaking skills. The Boy looks forward to it every week.
We’ve been playing with Thomas and Friends a lot this week. Building tracks, creating adventures for the trains, and digging for this train and that train. The Boy has been building his collection for four years. On his wish list right now, is Connor and Stephen the Original Steamie. Have you seen either one?
We carved our pumpkins. By “we” I mean The Texan and The Boy.
I roasted the pumpkin seeds. Happily, without burning them.
Halloween finally arrived, and we celebrated with a fun parade at school. I squeezed in a photo with The Boy before taking his pirate costume home with me.
The weather took a turn for the worst – and the temperature dropped quickly. Our community trick-or-treat was from 4pm – 6pm and I knew the pirate costume would be too cold! (No one wants to wear a jacket over their costume!) I was thrilled when The Boy decided on his own that wearing the Astronaut costume would be a better idea.
That’s about it for us last week. We kicked off this week by sorting our Halloween loot and taking down the decorations.
How was your week? I’m going to pop over to Life Rearranged and link up with Jeanett’s InstaFriday post. It’s always a fun way to peek inside the lives of others.
