Being a mother comes with its rewards. These rewards are not monetary, cannot be redeemed for free coffee or a cute top, but are measured in words.
As I was rubbing the sleep out of my eyes on this cold day, The Boy looked at me and said “Your hair looks nice today, Mom!”
It’s comforting to know that my son thinks I look nice after an evening of restless slumber. That’s makes the long day ahead more enjoyable.

Isn’t that sweet??!! I think sometimes kids say things just to try to make us happy 🙂 My son will do it now again, but usually it’s because he wants something..

The last compliment I received was from my husband. I was running late for school and all I had time to do was wet my hair down. As I was running out the door, he said, “You look nice today….YES, even your hair. You always look nice.” He’s always sincere and it’s nice to hear….especially when there are days that I do NOT feel very attractive.

My son randomly says the cutest things to me like I like your eyebrows, or I like your wrinkles. Its pretty funny and so cute.
