my most treasured item

Have you ever wondered what you would say if you were asked to identify your most treasured item?   I hadn’t either…until Toni decided that would be the Day 6 prompt in the 30 Days About Me Series she’s featuring on her blog.

Item can be defined as a couple in a romantic relationship.   That would make The Texan my most treasured item.

Item can also be defined as an object of attention.   That would make The Boy my most treasured item.

After establishing that I am over-the-moon in love with The Texan after all these years  {We’ll celebrate our SIXTH wedding anniversary in November!!}  and that The Boy is the apple of my eye,  I thought more about the things I have.    I’ve been doing this quite a bit this year.  Back in June I purged a bunch of things in my yard sale, and via Craigslist and eBay!

I have two lamps that were handcrafted just for me by a local potter.    My mother had them made for me when I moved to Florida.  They are beautiful, and contain sand from a beach we used to frequent when I was younger.   Sure, I’d miss them if they were broken or stolen.   Add those to  my list.   {I’d share a photo,   but that would require dusting.  Too lazy for that today.}

I have an ugly Garnet and diamond ring that belonged to my grandmother.   I will never wear it.   It is not my style.   But, I’d be heartbroken if it were stolen.  Add that to my list.

I have a Tommy Bahama Las Vegas Tervis Tumbler which holds just the right amount, and keeps your beverage at just the right temperature.    Hot or cold.   When this breaks,  I’ll be mad.   Add that to my list, too.

All things considered,  my list is very lame.   Two lamps,  an ugly ring,  and a plastic cup?   What the??   Maybe my most treasured item is really my family and the memories that I’ve created with them.
