As many of you may recall, we’re moving! Woot-woot! While I am looking forward to a larger home, I am not a fan of the moving process. Here are 5 Things I Hate About Moving:
I hate sorting through The Boy’s clothing trying to decide what to keep (for sentimental reasons) and what to sell or donate.
I hate that I have boxes of bubble wrap on my kitchen floor. Not to mention that we’ve packed most of our dishes, it’s a battle for the bowl!
The Linen closet has been cleaned out. Worn sheet sets donated, everything else packed. It makes me feel sad to see the empty closet.
My office is empty. I’m writing this post while sitting on the back of The Boy’s ride-on toy, using an ottoman for a desk.
As for food…we’re not eating much ’round here these days. Can we survive on candy alone for a week?
What are some things you hate about moving?
I hate.it.all! But I especially hate that my husband refuses to throw anything out when we move.
Moving isn’t fun, well the outcome is great but the process not so much. The thing I like least about moving is that my husband always insists that I leave while he packs the house, or I’ll show up after running errands and a ton of boxes are packed. Although the help is great he packs anything and everything. I like to go though like you have and donate, give away and throw away things we no longer need. I also like my boxes organized so I know where things will go in the new house. Not him!
My husband packs the same way as yours! Our last move, I was 36 weeks pregnant so I couldn’t sort/pack, etc. This time, I’m cleaning out! Happy to have sold and donated lots of goodies – unfortunately I feel like there is so much more that I could get rid of!
I absolutely hate sorting through our stuff! I dread the “Well, we don’t need it but…” conversations that seem to take forever! I wish I could just get rid of it all and start over when we get there.
I love moving. I know, it’s probably unhealthy, huh? I love packing, unpacking, everything about it! It looks like your move must be right around the corner–I hope it goes well!
Would you like to come help me unpack?! It’s brutal here. Happy to have my internet back today after DAYS without it, though. I guess the boxes will have to wait a bit longer.
I absolutely despise moving! Last February, my fiance and I moved into our home, and moving all of our belongings from a small, three-room apartment to a three-floor house was beyond ridiculous! Several days of lifting and moving things and so much work! At the end of the third day of lifting boxes and bags and getting everything settled, I sat at our kitchen table and cried. I was so drained.

I hate the deep cleaning after everything is all packed up. It’s such a shame you won’t get to enjoy all of your hard work cleaning.
Moving is definitely not fun. Packing is the worst.
I find when I go through my kids clothes I always want to keep most of them for sentimental reasons so their old clothes never seem to leave the house.
