Children in New England will be heading back to school in just two weeks. It’s hard to believe that the summer of 2012 is winding down. We’ll enjoy the last few days of the beach and ice cream cones and begin to prepare for the new school year.
The Boy is officially a preschooler this year. I’m so excited for him – I know that this year will be full of growth and learning for him. And for The Texan and me, too! As we wait for the letter from his teachers instructing us on what to bring, I’ve been thinking back to all of the supplies that I needed as a child. With budget cuts everywhere, I’m sure that the list is even longer now!
For now, we’re focusing on clothing. The Boy is tall and slim, so finding pants is always an adventure! We plan to do some of our back to school shopping at JCPenney. I’m excited to shop there because during the month of August you can round up your purchase and donate the difference to the Boys and Girls Club! Isn’t that awesome? Learn more about the jcp cares program and how easy it is to round up your purchase, then head over to JCPenney for your back to school clothes!
Everyone knows that you can’t get through a school year without one pop quiz! The Boys and Girls Club knows that, and they partnered with Disney to bring you a fun pop quiz. Visit this page to take the quiz, for every correct answer, Disney will donate supplies to the Boys and Girls Club!
If you’re the parent of a middle or high school student, the Boys and Girls Club has prepared wonderful resources for you. There are tips for time management, preparing for college, and more! Those tips are located on the left side of this page, be sure to check them out. I’ll be modifying some of them to suit my preschooler!
How are you getting your children prepared for the school year?
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Boys and Girls Club. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
I love shopping at JCP. that being said. What a great cause to “round-up ” your purchases for!
My kids have slowly over the past two weeks pushed their bedtimes back to 8:30 (instead of 9:30-10pm!) and we went to buy some school supplies and clothes last week.
Rounding up purchases as a great way to easily donate to such a wonderful program!
I LOVE JC Penney! They have great clothes! Goodluck to you and your family as you enter this next phase in family and parenting!!!!
