There may have been a time that I would have entertained the idea of bungee jumping for about one-tenth of a second. Now that I am older – and presumably – wiser, there is NO WAY on earth that I would ever consider bungee jumping.
Never.
While I am certain that I would enjoy the adrenaline rush that one must feel while falling through the air, I’d be afraid that my bungee would snap. And The Boy would be left without a mommy. Quite simply, I am not that selfish.
For now, I’ll have to get my thrills getting a good spot in the parking lot at Trader Joe’s!
What about you? Are you a bungee jumper? What types of thrills do you seek?

What what NaBloPoMo is all about? NaBloPoMo, created by the brilliant minds at BlogHer, is a month long blogging challenge to encourage you to write daily about a specific prompt. Today’s prompt was “Would you ever go bungee jumping?” Although sign ups to participate in this month’s Blog Roll have closed, the daily prompts are available here.

I agree with you, while it probably is a rush, the possibility of a snapped cord and my 4 kids without a Mom is too much of a risk. I can get the same effect hanging upside down over the back of the couch, losing m grip trying to plug in a cord behind the couch and falling flat on my face..yes true story 🙂
When I was 17, I competed in a children’s mini-marathon on vacation, came in 4th place and won a double pass to a bungee jump ( yep, I voluntarily did a marathon on vacation… I was crazy back then!)
Being the fearless young thing that I was, I couldn’t wait to wrap elastic around my ankles and jump off the swinging platform… until I got up there. I stood at the edge and freaked out hardcore. I had never been afraid of heights until that night. They lowered the crane and let me out and it was my friends turn, she got up there and before we had time to blink, the was face down heading towards us. Well that did it, I didn’t want her to ‘one up’ me, so I got straight back in that crane and this time jumped before I had time to think. And it was terrifying. My brother filmed it and saved the file as ‘pig squeal’ because that’s the exact sound I made. And after that experience, I shake looking out a second story window. Absolutely horrible experience that I will NEVER repeat!
I’m the opposite. I love things like that. For my 30th birthday a couple years ago, I was finally able to go skydiving and I LOVED it! I would go again, and again if it were cheaper. It was such an awesome experience..hard to describe. Most people say they couldn’t do it cause they don’t like to feel like they’re falling, but I can honestly tell you that there is no falling sensation at all. Why? because you have nothing around you to make you feel you’re falling. If you were to jump off a building, you’d zoom down the building and could see your movement as you’re going down. Skydiving mostly feels like flying… as if you were a bird in the air. That’s the best description I can give… but it was simply amazing!
You’re brave, Beth!
There is no way I would go bungee jumping. I don’t know if you have seen the commercial about the guy who pretends to go and he is using his camera to simulate jumping and rebounding back, that’s something I would do!
