It’s officially summer here, friends! The Boy started camp this morning and we’re falling into our summer routine. One thing that makes summer afternoons fun, are delicious sparkling beverages. Today, I’m sharing an easy cucumber blackberry sparkler recipe that has a little kick to it thanks to jalapeño pepper.
A few days ago, I was browsing the offers available through the Target Cartwheel app and found that through July 11th, you can save 10% on all varieties of Green Works® products (including the convenient Pump ‘N Clean). I’ve heard a lot about the new Pump ‘N Clean product, including that the product is food-safe, so you can clean your knife in between cutting veggies (but it should not be used to clean up after raw fish or raw meat.). I added it to my Cartwheel app and headed to my happy place, errr….Target. Target is the only retailer to carry the complete Green Works® line, so I knew I wouldn’t have trouble finding it.
The product was easy to spot on the shelf with the other Green Works® products. Keep in mind that your Target may have it on an end cap display with other products from the line. Green Works® products are among my favorites because they contain naturally derived ingredients. They clean powerfully, without the harsh chemical fumes or leaving behind a residue. Which is so important to me, especially in the kitchen. I knew that it would be great for cleaning up while making a refreshing cucumber blackberry sparkler.
What You’ll Need
Mint Leaves
One Small Cucumber, thinly sliced
One Jalapeño, thinly sliced (seeded, if preferred)
1/2 cup fresh Blackberries
One Lime, freshly squeezed (approximately 1/4 cup)
2 Tablespoons Extra Fine Sugar
Seltzer Water or Club Soda
Ice
Sharp Knife
Muddler
Green Works® Pump ‘N Clean
Tall Mason Jar or pitcher for muddling
Small Mason Jar for serving
What You’ll Do
Clean and wash your produce and mint leaves. Taking care to remove the sand from the mint leaves. Make sure your knife is sharp. Working with a sharp knife makes the job go smoothly and helps achieve those thin slices you’re looking for with the cucumbers.
After using my sharp knife to thinly slice cucumbers, I used the one-handed pump on the Pump ‘N Clean dispenser to quickly clean my knife and cutting board before moving on to slicing the other ingredients. It’s safe for use around food, making it a great choice for cleaning up as you work.
Slice the jalapeño into thin circles. Feel free to remove the seeds if you don’t want too much heat in your cucumber blackberry sparkler. Clean your knife again using the Pump ‘N Clean.
Slice your lime in half and juice it into the tall mason jar or pitcher.
Next up, add mint leaves, blackberries, sliced cucumbers, jalapeño slices, and extra fine sugar to the lime juice in the tall mason jar or pitcher.
Muddle the ingredients together well. Using the extra fine sugar helps to sweeten the non-alcoholic beverage while bringing out the flavors of the fruits and vegetables.
Add ice to a small mason jar, pour the cucumber blackberry mixture into the mason jar. Top with club soda and garnish with blackberries, lime wheel and jalapeño slice.
It’s no secret that a balanced, natural lifestyle is important to me. The Green Works® product line is one that I can trust to get the job done. The plant- and mineral-based cleaning ingredients are items that I am proud to use in my home. They’re not tested on animals and use environmentally sustainable packaging whenever possible.
Blackberries and cucumbers scream summer, as does this refreshing non-alcoholic beverage. I’ve shared how I keep my kitchen clean along with one of my favorite non-alcoholic summer drink recipes. I’d love to hear about your cleaning tips and favorite summer recipes!
This drink sounds delicious…I love the addition of a jalapeno in a drink! I need to give this a shot for the long weekend! #client
